Hoedspruit

Hoedspruit is a small town in the south of Mpumalanga. It is both a railway and road junction and is a convenient platform for "big 5" tourisim. It is located a short drive away from both the Orpen and the Phalaborwa gates of the world famous Kruger National Park.

It is located even closer to the private game areas of Klaserie and Timbavati. The Sabi Sands game areas are also a short distance away.

The Kruger Park

The Kruger Park is ideal for self drive tours. It has well maintained roads that are easily traversable with a normal car. Its many rest camps offer self-catering accommodation as well as restaurants, shops and garage facilities.

You can see all of the big 5 here (Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard), as well as a host of other less famous but no less fascinating species.
